Red Kite Cottage

Red Kite Cottage

This recently constructed Scandinavian redwood pine log cabin is situated close to Munlochy on the Black Isle, just 6 miles north of Inverness. An ideal base for exploring the Scottish Highlands and visiting local attractions such as Culloden Battlefield, the Black Isle Wild-life Park and the famous Black Isle Brewery. It is also within easy reach of award winning beaches in Wester Ross and Sutherland and spectacular mountains in Torridon, the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve and the Cairngorms.

Situated on the fertile farmland of the Black Isle countryside there is an abundance of wildlife.

The Cabin is named Red Kite due the frequent sightings of these birds of prey. Whether you are hill-walking on the many local routes or taking a leisurely stroll along the beach at Rosemarkie there is plenty to see. Bottle nose dolphins can be spotted playing close by in the Moray Firth and feeding off Chanonry point beside the Fortrose golf course and if your lucky you may even spot Nessie if you take a trip down nearby Loch Ness.

Guest Reviews

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The owners are very thoughtful and have the cabin well stocked with crockery, cutlery, cleaning equipment etc. It was also spacious and the fenced in garden was a bonus with having the dog with us. The manuals provided were great with loads of information of things to do and all the user manuals for the equipment in the cabin were very useful too.
