Situated on the Black Isle between Tore and Fortrose and only 15 minutes from Inverness, Avoch is a quiet seaside village and an ideal base for exploring the Highlands and discovering the wealth of wildlife on your doorstep. Only a 5 minute drive from Chanonry point by Fortrose a national dolphin spotting haven.

The area has a strong agricultural background and every year on the first Thursday in August hosts the Black Isle Show, arguably the second most important agricultural show in Scotland. Infamous Highland entertainment and hospitality are in abundance for all the family.

Originally built in 1820, and now a C listed building, the Old Chandlery was the part of the old fishers town in Avoch, supplier to the many fisherman of years past. Now fully renovated to a high standard the Old Chandlery self catering holiday home offers guests comfortable and modern holiday accommodation with a fantastic seaward outlook across the Moray Firth.

Accommodation & Facilities

Kitchen – Fully fitted modern kitchen with electric oven and grill, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster & all the cutlery, crockery, pots & pans you will need. Views across the Avoch harbour & Moray Firth - ideal for dolphin spotting.

Lounge/Dining area (off lounge) - The dining area seats 6. Lounge - A leather settee and 2 easy chairs, TV with freeview, DVD player, CD player, coffee table and a selection of DVD's and games. Table and chairs to seat 6. Views across the Avoch harbour & Moray Firth.

Master bedroom – King size bed, bedside cabinets with lamps, fitted wardrobes. Views across the Avoch harbour & Moray Firth

Bedroom 2 – Double bed with bedside cabinets & wardrobe.

Bedroom 3 – Single bed with pull out additional single. Due to the size of the room when both beds are in use the room would be more suited to children.

Family bathroom - Bath with shower, wc and wash hand basin

Upstairs cloakroom– wc and wash hand basin

Utility room – With washing machine, tumble drier & freezer.

Outside – small fenced patio area with table and chairs.

Other info – a single fold down bed is available also

All bed linen and towels are included in the price.

The holiday home is stocked with a starter supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets (if applicable), toilet rolls and other kitchen and bathroom supplies.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).

There is off road parking opposite the house.

Well behaved pets are welcome.

No smoking is permitted within the holiday home.

A refundable good housekeeping deposit of £50 will be required as part of your final balance payment.

Location & Directions

By Car - From the South traveling north on the A9, at the Kessock bridge roundabout in Inverness take the 2nd exit across the bridge. Continue on the dual carriage way (A9) for approx' 3 miles.

Turn right off the A9, following the sign for “Black Isle, Munlochy".

Follow the road through the village of Munlochy, turning right at T junction when you leave the village and follow the signs for Avoch. Proceed through Avoch, passed the 'Morning, noon & night' convenience store.

The Old Chandlery is located on the left approx' 500 metres along, opposite the harbour.
